School of Electronics and Information Launches Overseas Talent Recruitment Series in Australia and Hong Kong
发布时间:2025-10-22

In alignment with the spirit of the NPU's 14th Party Congress and the development goals outlined in the university's "One-Ten-Hundred-Thousand" initiative and the 15th Five-Year Plan, the School of Electronics and Information is steadfastly intensifying efforts to recruit outstanding overseas talent and advance talent-driven development. From September 23rd to 27th, a delegation comprising Prof. Junli Liang, Prof. Le Hui, Prof. Dayong Tian, and Prof. Xinyu Zhang visited universities in Australia and Hong Kong to conduct a series of talent recruitment activities.

On September 23rd, the delegation commenced its mission at Monash University. Facilitated by Professor Vincent CS Lee, the event brought together over ten Chinese international students and researchers from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in the University's IT School. In-depth discussions were held on research collaboration in two key fields, as well as on the recruitment and cultivation of outstanding overseas talent. Participants actively engaged and expressed considerable interest in the talent initiatives at NPU.

On September 24th, the delegation held separate meetings with scholars from the School of Computer Science at the University of Sydney and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) at the University of Technology Sydney. The delegation introduced the school's disciplinary strengths, research platforms, and talent recruitment policies, addressing scholars' inquiries on the spot and actively responding to concerns regarding research support and career development.

From September 25th to 26th, collaborating with the NPU Shenzhen Research Institute, the delegation engaged with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Detailed interpretations were provided on talent policies, including research start-up funds and expedited promotion channels. Lin Feng, Director of the Industry-Education Integration Department at the Shenzhen Research Institute, further elaborated on the institute's specialized support policies. The session attracted over 20 doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers, fostering a lively exchange. Subsequently, the delegation visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong, meeting with Professor Shichang Gao and his doctoral students. Discussions centered on 5G/6G communication systems and microwave remote sensing applications, exploring cutting-edge technologies, research challenges, and potential collaborative opportunities aligned with mutual interests.

On September 27th, the delegation met with Professor Qingxiang Su's team from the Department of Electronic Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. Both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on communication signal processing and its aerospace applications. Following the meeting, the delegation toured Professor Su's laboratory, discussing further collaboration in scientific research and joint talent cultivation.

The overseas talent recruitment series in Australia and Hong Kong has provided crucial momentum for building the school's overseas talent pool during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Through its model of "policy precision interpretation + real-time resource matching," the initiative effectively demonstrates NPU's sincerity and appeal to overseas talents. Moving forward, the school will continue to uphold an open and collaborative philosophy, leveraging talent recruitment to foster cooperation, strengthening disciplines through collaboration, and gathering greater wisdom and strength for the development of both the university and the school.
