School of Electronics and Information

The School of Electronics and Information (SEI) at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) was established in May 2003, whose predecessor is the Department of Radio System founded in 1958. In 1970, the Air Weapons Control Specialty and the Air Weapons design Specialty of the Air Force Engineering Department in Harbin Military Industry University were incorporated into this department. Currently, SEI@NPU includes five departments and one experimental center, namely the Department of Micro-nano Electronics and Integrated Circuits, the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Systems and Control Engineering, the Department of Communication Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering and the Electronic Experimental Teaching Center.

SEI@NPU has 212 faculty members including 35 professors and 87 associate professors. It has one national-level teaching team, one national-level science and technology innovation team, and one Shaanxi provincial-level innovation Team and 6 Shaanxi provincial-level teaching teams. 

SEI@NPU pays attention to the cooperation between schools and enterprises, and has signed a number of comprehensive cooperation agreements with the relevant institutions of China Aviation Industry Corporation, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and has established Huawei-NPU Mobile Communication Technology Innovation Center and Haige-NPU Collaborative Innovation Center of Advanced Information Technology, NPU-Aviation Industry Optoelectronics Institute Collaborative Innovation Center of Mission System Technology and other school-enterprise joint teaching and research centers.

SEI@NPU pays great attention to international cooperation and exchanges, insists the path of international education, and cultivates talents with international vision and international competitiveness. The number of students studying abroad and foreign students is increasing year by year. SEI@NPU has established friendly relations with many universities and research institutions in the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, Finland, Russia, Australia, South Korea, Singapore and other countries, exchanging foreign students and visiting scholars, conducting joint scientific research and training postgraduate students. It also has established one national-level international science and technology cooperation base and two provincial-level international joint research centers.
